DURING the period from January to June, the number of air cargo carriers operating services from Chongqing increased to 15, providing a weekly capacity of about 3,500 tonnes, according to Xinhua's report.
Domestic and international cargo services from Chongqing increased to 19. European routes, offering 21 flights a week. Ninety-five per cent of Chongqing's Europe-bound cargo enjoyed direct flight services while American and Asia Pacific routes offered 22 flights a week.
In the same period, the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe container railway maintained a weekly service and the rail service to Shenzhen also kept up a twice weekly frequency while another to Shanghai was launched managing six runs in the first half of 2012.
