Envirotainer teams up with CHEP Aerospace for air cargo containers
ENVIROTAINER has signed an agreement to place CHEP Aerospace Solutions' repair management system, ACTIS, at its stations, after the two companies forged an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and development relationship. Envirotainer is also establishing four new centres in Atlanta, Amsterdam, Singapore and Vienna to strengthen its ability to serve the cold chain market, primarily for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, with air cargo containers. CHEP, a provider of unit load devices (ULDs) and galley cart maintenance and repair operations (MRO) solutions, will ensure that Envirotainer's high quality standard processes for container maintenance, repair and handling are performed consistently all over the world, with particular focus on Asia and other high growth markets. "This new partnership is expected to spark innovation and additional process development within the MRO and ground handling market by leveraging the knowledge and resources of both companies, whilst also delivering economies of scale and further efficiencies for Envirotainer's network of stations," said a statement from Envirotainer. Said Envirotainer CEO Gustaf Ljunggren: "This partnership will help us fully deliver on our network strategy by giving us strong IT back-end capabilities and MRO excellence, in addition to our already strong global service network. CHEP Aerospace Solutions is the best partner to help us fully realise the strategic global service network we want to establish in the long term."
